4-H Resource Educator

The 4-H Resource Educator is a full-time, exempt position with 40 hours being the norm; some weekends and evening work hours as necessary. The position is located in Schoharie County's Cobleskill office, but employee may serve some assignments in Otsego County.

The educator works collaboratively under the supervision of the Executive Director with the 4-H Educator in Otsego County to ensure the delivery of a quality, all-association 4-H program. The educator will be assigned high-level 4-H program tasks in Schoharie and Otsego Counties under the direction of the Executive Director.

The primary responsibilities include developing, planning, organizing, leading, and evaluating the Association’s 4-H Youth Development Program in Schoharie County.

A Master’s Degree in Youth Development, Agriculture, Family and Consumer Sciences, or related disciplines plus relevant experience is required.

Application review will begin March 9, 2020. The position will remain open until a sufficient pool of candidates is reached. Position closing dates may change based on Association needs.

4-H After School Program Activity Leaders

Cornell Cooperative Extension is hiring part-time activity leaders for the After School Programs in Cobleskill-Richmondville, Schoharie Schools, and for a new program in Middleburgh. Part-time positions starting in September.

We are seeking an “Activity Leaders” to work with elementary or middle school aged children. Activities will include, but not be limited to, homework tutoring, academic enrichment, and 4-H projects: science, technology, character education programs, arts and crafts, drama, and recreation. 

We integrate the 4-H philosophy and clubs into programs. Experience in youth development, which includes physical education and youth activities, is required.

An Associate’s degree is desirable; however the minimum qualifications for these positions are a high school diploma or equivalent with one-year experience working with school-aged children.

Employment is contingent upon meeting the requirements of New York State's School-Age Child Care Regulations.
