Mohawk Valley Study:
Cobleskill Food Enterprise Center / Regional Food System Assessment
AGRICULTURAL PRODUCER SURVEY
A team of Cornell Cooperative Extension specialists and industry experts, in partnership with Empire State Development (ESD), is conducting a food system assessment of the Mohawk Valley Region with the help of New Venture Advisors, a new business advisory firm specializing in food and agriculture.
The objective of this assessment is to identify services and enterprises that should be developed in the region to help agricultural producers improve and expand their operation and markets. Within this assessment, there is a focus on the feasibility of securing space for a food hub and processing facility at the former Guilford Mills complex in Cobleskill, NY. Centrally located, with ideal highway access, a hub in this facility could connect robust upstate agricultural production with growing market opportunities in this and downstate regions.
Will you help us in understanding your concerns and needs? Please complete our survey to help us understand the obstacles facing producers in accessing and increasing their sales into direct and or wholesale channels, as well as identify potential strategies and infrastructure that could be developed to help increase viable agricultural production and markets.
PS: Not a Farm Producer? If you are a Food Buyer, please take this survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/mvrbuyers. If you are a Food Production Business, please take this survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/mvrprocessing.
Respondents are more than welcome to take one or more surveys.
