The Central NY Dairy and Field Crops Program works with farmers on:

  • Dairy Replacement Enterprise
  • Dairy Feeds and Feeding

  • Small farm technologies
  • Direct Marketing & On-farm Processing
  • Organic Dairy Transition
  • Crop Insurance Education

Dairy farms dominate the farm landscape, and they account for 2/3 to 3/4 of the farm sales in the region. Abundant natural rainfall and a great tradition of dairy farming makes the Northeast an important dairy-producing area of the country.

This program is supported by Cornell University and the Cornell Cooperative Extension Associations of
Chenango, Fulton, Herkimer, Montgomery, Saratoga and Schoharie and Otsego Counties.
