Will Take Place Today as Scheduled - Pruning Workshop - Large & Small Fruit Trees

Cornell Cooperative Extension Schoharie and Otsego Counties will host a large and small fruit tree pruning workshop on Saturday, April 1, from 10 a.m. to noon.  

Leading the workshop will be Laura McDermott, Extension Small Fruit Specialist, Eastern NY Commercial Horticulture Program. Laura leads small fruit outreach efforts, serves as a liaison with grower organizations, and regularly participates in applied research and demonstration activities.

The workshop will be held at Middlefield Orchards, 2274 State Highway 166 in the Town of Middlefield. Middlefield Orchard is a 130-acre fruit and vegetable farm that borders Cherry Valley Creek. For directions visit http://middlefieldorchard.com/directions/

The fee is $10 per person, payable at the event. Pre-registrations accepted until Thursday, March 30 or until the class is full. Participants are encouraged to dress appropriately and to bring their own pruning tools. Extra tools will be on hand. Should there be inclement weather, be sure to check the website at cceschoharie-otsego.org for workshop confirmation.
