Master Gardener Volunteers of Cornell Cooperative Extension Schoharie and Otsego Counties are sponsoring Spring Garden Day (SGD), a day devoted to gardening and growing environments, featuring a variety of workshops. SGD will again be held in conjunction with the OCCA Earth Festival at Milford Central School on Saturday, April 21. The 2018 Earth Festival that is held in conjunction with Spring Garden Day will run from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is an environmentally-focused, interactive event featuring exhibits, activities, vendors, and entertainment.
Try Something New, is the theme this year. Four workshops will be presented. The topics will include "Native Plants: Gardening with Nature," "Herbs 101: Introduction to Herbs," "Seed Starting, and " Growing Shiitake Mushrooms".
Exhibits, presentations, and workshops are occurring from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. SGD exhibits and registration for all workshops will begin at 10:30 a.m. The morning session of concurrent workshops starts at 11 a.m. and ends at noon. Noon to 1 p.m. is time to get your own lunch and enjoy the SGD and Earth Festival 2018 Exhibits. The afternoon session of concurrent workshops beginning at 1 p.m. and ending at 2 p.m.
