The 4-H Earn-an-Animal Program gives youth the opportunity to purchase, raise, and show an animal. Animal species in the 4-H Earn-an-Animal Program include the traditional beef and dairy calves, dairy and meat goats, poultry, swine, sheep, and rabbits. The newly added “other” category includes unique agriculture production such as beekeeping, alpacas, fish farming. These award animals can be used to establish breed stock or market stock.
