DESCRIPTION:In collaboration with the Schoharie County Home of Ongoing Learning (S.C.H.O.O.L), join Master Food Preserver Theresa Kaya for a demonstration on the proper and safe way to boiling water bath canning. The choice of recipe will be contingent on available produce, but may include pickles or jams. Review of safe canning procedures as well as available safe tested recipes will be included. Just because it's Grandma's recipe and we are still here to talk about it doesn't mean it's safe!Registration Instructions: Program is open to the public. Members of S.C.H.O.O.L can register directly through that program. Non-members of S.C.H.O.O.L can register through the CCESO website (https://pub.cce.cornell.edu/event_registration/main/events_landing.cfm?event=Canning_Demonstration_243) or contact Marcie Foster (mkf48@cornell.edu; 607-547-2536 ext. 235)
