The Otsego Master Gardeners are collaborating with a team of graduate students enrolled in the SUNY Oneonta Cooperstown Graduate Program Science Museum Studies track to compile a directory of regional public ornamental and educational gardens, community food-producing initiatives, and horticultural interpretation and therapy programs of benefit to the public.
Included in the compendium are gardens at schools, libraries, clinics, hospitals, retirement and rehabilitation centers, historic sites, museums, churches, colleges, food banks, community food gardens, gardens at state and local parks, and other public spaces. The focus is on horticultural assets in a four-county region; Delaware, Herkimer, Otsego, and Schoharie Counties, all of which mirror the regional 2020 Master Gardener Volunteer Training currently in progress.
All garden entities are welcome to participate in the directory. Feel free to send a description of your garden and contact details to Otsego Master Gardener Pati Grady at patigrady71@gmail.com, or call 607.435.2105. If you have questions or need more information, contact CCE Schoharie and Otsego Counties at 607.547.2536 (x228), or email mastergardener-otsego@cornell.edu.
