In September 2017, the Otsego County Board of Representatives adopted a new Agriculture and Farmland Protection Plan. Along with the plan, an Ag and Farmland Protection Plan Implementation Committee (AFPPIC) was formed and an Implementation Specialist was hired to oversee the progress of the plan. In the summer of 2018, Farm, Source, Thrive Otsego was born as a brand to represent the plan and all of its various projects and programs.

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Schoharie and Otsego Counties has teamed up with area businesses, in partnership with the WhatsGood online market, to host drop sites where customers can pick up their orders, and whose food-related businesses are open for further shopping.
