Producing for the Hub Workshop

  • Wednesday, February 15, 2017, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Cooperative Extension host an informational workshop for producers considering new direct markets for produce and value-added products.  The session will take place on Wednesday, February 15, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. (weather permitting) at the CCE Extension Center, 173 South Grand St., Cobleskill, directly across from the Fairgrounds.

The guest speaker is Richard Giles, Delaware County farmer and proprietor of the Lucky Dog Food Hub in Hamden, NY.  The purpose of the discussion is both to make area farmers aware of potential access through Lucky Dog to market opportunities regionally and in the New York City metropolitan area, as well as to learn about what it takes logistically for such a hub to operate successfully in the region.  Learn how Lucky Dog works with small farms, such as promotion of products, on-the-ground matching with buyers, becoming direct wholesale ready, transportation, periodic workshops, NYC tours, and more.

All area producers are welcome.
