Grafting Fruit Trees

  • Saturday, March 18, 2023, 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM

Join Otsego Master Gardener Volunteer, Paul Mendelsohn, in person or online, for an informal discussion about Grafting Fruit Trees, on Saturday, March 18, 2023 from 10 to 11:30 a.m., at the CCE Education Center in Cooperstown and live via Zoom.

The art and science of grafting has been used for centuries, allowing growers to preserve and extend the life of fruiting trees of value. Paul has experimented with grafting fruit trees for over forty years. From his time-tested experience, he will share what has and has not worked for him, guidance about how common tools may be used in grafting, and will provide participants with fruit tree wood for scions. Participants are welcome to bring their grafting tools for the discussion; actual grafting is NOT on the agenda.

The workshop is free and open to the public. In-house space at the Education Center is limited; pre-registration is required.
