We want to hear from Schoharie County’s agricultural stakeholders and residents about the issues impacting Schoharie County’s farms and agricultural communities. To encourage constructive conversations, and identify opportunities and needs, the Schoharie County Farm Bureau and Cornell Cooperative Extension Schoharie Otsego Counties are holding two Agriculture Issues Networking gatherings on Saturday, April 6th at 1 pm in Carlisle, and Saturday, April 13th at 1 pm in Middleburgh.

These Agricultural Issues Networking gatherings were born out of a need for constructive discussions regarding Schoharie County’s agricultural sector. For these events to be worthwhile, we need members of the agricultural community and county residents to participate! Please join us and encourage others to attend!

The gatherings will follow an agenda designed to provide speakers with a two-minute period to present their issues or perspectives. Written comments will also be collected from folks who prefer to share their points in writing. Participants will also have the opportunity to network with others who are interested in the same issues, and brainstorm on next steps and action items. All of this will help to inform the advocacy that is central to the mission of the Farm Bureau, and the education and outreach that is central to the mission of Cornell Cooperative Extension Schoharie and Otsego.

The Agriculture Issues Networking gatherings will nurture connections and collaborations centered around agricultural key issues. If there are issues facing agriculture that are important to you, or if you have a heart for agriculture and want to be part of developing solutions for a promising future please join us on Saturday, April 6th, 1 pm at the Carlisle Town Hall, 541 Crommie Rd, Carlisle, or on Saturday, April 13th, 1pm at the Middleburgh Reformed Church, 178 River St, Middleburgh.

We hope that these will be the first of many Agriculture Issues Networking gatherings, and we hope you in Carlisle or Middleburg! If you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact us.
