All-America Selections Garden Tour

  • Wednesday, July 23, 2025, 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM

The Otsego Master Gardener Volunteers will host a Garden Display Tour at the Cornell Cooperative Extension Education Center, 123 Lake Street, Cooperstown.

The tour will begin at 5 p.m.

The tour is open to the public and is FREE.  It will be held rain or shine.

Tour the garden and see new plant varieties that had the distinction of being designated as All-America Selections (AAS). These varieties have been chosen for outstanding garden performance by professional horticulturists. Garden tours and advice will be offered about the challenges of gardening in this summer of cool, wet weather.

Otsego Master Gardener Volunteer, Mary Ellen Calta, will also demonstrate how to cut and arrange flowers. 

Light refreshments will be served,

AAS Display Gardens provide the public with an opportunity to view the newest AAS Winners in an attractive well-maintained setting. A typical Display Garden is a public botanic garden or arboretum, a municipality, a garden retailer, a university garden and many others. Display Gardens may also provide educational programs about the AAS trialing and award process during “open house” or “field day” events during peak growing seasons.

The network of nearly 200 dedicated AAS gardens includes 55 locations that have served for 25 years or longer. The earliest AAS Display Garden, Norseco, Inc. of Quebec Canada became an AAS garden in 1962.
