Cornell Cooperative Extension of Schoharie and Otsego Counties (CCESO) is pleased to offer the NYS Seed to Supper program in collaboration with local agencies. Originating with the Oregon Food Bank, NYS Seed to Supper (S2S) is a beginning gardening experience that provides novice gardeners with the tools they need to connect with other people, grow in confidence, and successfully grow a portion of their own food on a limited budget.
This is a FREE program that provides straightforward, practical information about growing healthy food on a budget. Each participant will learn the basics of planning and planting a garden as well as how to harvest and use the vegetables in 6 classes. A 92-page curriculum book is provided to each participant, and container ready vegetable plants to take home.
The class is for adults only, but childcare and meals may be available upon request. Having a garden space at home is NOT needed to participate. Registration is required and class size is limited. Participants are encouraged to commit to the entire series.
