On Saturday, August 26, 2023, we celebrate our 11th Annual Family Farm Day (FFD) that will include open house events at farms from Schoharie, Otsego, and Delaware Counties.
The 2023 Family Farm Day Guide will be your map to this year's participating farms. (Be sure to download while in regions with stronger signals as the file is large.) A ‘Key to Symbols’ indicates farm event features such as tours, rides, activities, samples, bathroom facilities, and the opportunity where possible to be close to farm animals. Most importantly, take time to be acquainted with our region’s talented and resourceful farmers.
FFD provides local farms and related businesses the opportunity to introduce current and new customers to diverse, high-quality products, generate farm-gate sales, build long-term customer bases, and share the ever-evolving farm ‘stories’ that keep the importance of agriculture in the public dialogue. “Our signature agritourism event continues to thrive,” said Liz Callahan, Executive Director for CCE Schoharie and Otsego Counties. “The feedback from participating farms and visitors has been overwhelmingly positive over the years.”
Plan your route using our Interactive Map, which includes direct links to farm websites, social media, farm GPS locations, travel directions, photos, and further descriptions about the farms and FFD activities offered. We encourage you to visit as many farms as your schedule permits between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. and then to dine locally following FFD hours, if not stay for the weekend.
For everyone’s safety, please adhere to Family Farm Day etiquette:
Be sure to bring coolers or insulated grocery bags to take home delicious, local, farm-fresh products purchased throughout the day!
At the end of Family Farm Day, please complete the visitor survey here to be entered in a chance to win a gift basket full of Family Farm Day memorabilia. Be sure to include your contact information so we can reach you if you win! Thank you for your participation!
Family Farm Day is an agritourism collaboration among CCE Schoharie and Otsego Counties, CCE Delaware County, Delaware County Tourism, Destination Marketing Corporation – Otsego & Schoharie Co. Tourism, as well as local chambers of commerce, county Farm Bureaus, local farmers, and loyal sponsors.
